About us
Mission
The Czereda Foundation was created out of the need to build a community based on respect, solidarity, and facts. We support the integration of migrants – especially children, young people, and families with refugee experience – and strengthen local communities in dealing with disinformation and social tensions. We believe that cultural diversity is a resource, and human rights and European values are the foundation of safe coexistence.
Goals
Our main objectives are:
– social integration of migrants and refugees,
– counteracting disinformation and social polarization,
– intercultural and civic education,
– strengthening local volunteering and human solidarity,
– building relationships based on dialogue, trust, and cooperation.
Team
The Foundation is made up of people with experience in education, social animation, legal support, intercultural activities, and project management. We cooperate with experts in the fields of integration, fact-checking, communication, and civic engagement. Our team also includes individuals with migration experience, which allows us to better understand and respond to real community needs.
Project and financial coordination is handled by the Foundation’s vice-president, who has accounting training and experience in managing social initiatives. We also work with volunteers, including people from Ukraine and individuals professionally connected with public institutions such as the consulate.
History
The Foundation was registered in 2023 in Trzebinia (Lesser Poland), but its activities stem from earlier local educational and support initiatives. From the beginning, we have supported people arriving in Poland after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine by helping with translations, legal procedures, and access to public services. Over time, we have expanded our work to include integration and intercultural activities.
In response to growing social tensions, we began working in the area of strengthening resilience to disinformation. We combine education, social engagement, and informational
activities to increase public awareness and the ability to recognize manipulation.
Partnerships
We cooperate with local schools, social organizations, migrant communities, and municipal institutions. We build networks with experts in education, human rights, and social communication, which allows us to implement projects that meet the real needs of local communities.
Why we act
We see how disinformation, lack of knowledge, and fear of “the other” weaken social bonds and threaten democracy. We respond to these challenges by combining education, support, dialogue, and fact-checking activities. We create a space where residents – regardless of origin – can co-create a local community based on reciprocity and facts.
